Dr. Akers graduated from Morehead State University with an associate in Veterinary Technology in 1987, University of Kentucky in Animal Science in 1991, and Auburn School of Veterinary Medicine class of 1996 Magma Cum Laude. Dr. Akers started Paris Veterinary Clinic in 1998 with her husband Jim Akers. She has two daughters and has been married for 31 years. She enjoys spending time with her 3 cats and French bulldog, Panda on the weekends. She is involved in KVMA in the small animal portion and has done local low-cost vaccine and spay and neuter clinics for 10 years.
Elizabeth Buckles is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors degree in Community and Leadership Development and a Certificate in Business. Elizabeth has worked on and off for Paris Vet Clinic for 10+ years. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her son TJ, her dog Violet, and her two cats Emori and Jo Ann.
Madison gradated from Morehead State in 2020 with a Bachelors in Animal Science. She enjoys her free time with her pups, Olive and Cash and her kitties, Wolfgang and Winny. She also has a turtle named Lenny.
Hallie Adams is 18 years old and a Junior at Locust Trace and Dunbar high school in Lexington. She is in the vet tech program and will graduate in 2025 with her vet tech certification. Hallie has been working with us for over a year now. Hallie has several dogs and cats at home. In her spare time she enjoys playing baseball, bike riding and being a patient ambassador for Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Charlotte Adams is 17 years old and a sophomore, attending Locust Trace and Dunbar high school in Lexington. She is currently in the equine and vet tech programs and will graduate with a vet tech certification in 2026. At home she has several dogs and cats, along with a bunny, horses, chickens, geese, turkeys, and ducks. A real life Ellie May. In her spare time she babysits and loves hanging out with friends.
Panda joined Dr. Akers family in 2019 and joins her at work every day. Panda specializes in greeting the new dogs that arrive scared to the clinic and greeting clients at the front door. She is a French Bulldog that will steal your heart and possibly your dog as they run off to play in the waiting room!
Olive joined our Veterinary Assistant Madison's home in 2022. Her specialty is introducing new clients to the "fun" side of the clinic. She is a French Bulldog who joins Panda in the daily greeting of patients and their owners. Come visit Olive today!
